TRAUMA ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
Trauma Regional Advisory Councils (TRACs) are starting to form as part of the statewide trauma system. The TRAC regions will mirror the HRSA hospital regions already established for bioterrorism planning and response.

ArAA members are strongly encouraged to participate in the TRACs as this is a deliverable for trauma system funding for the next cycle. Please keep the ArAA posted on your TRAC activity and let us know if there is anything we can do to assist your EMS agency in this process.

TRAUMA BANDS HELP TRACK PATIENTS THROUGH STATEWIDE TRAUMA SYSTEM

Beginning January 1, 2011, special ID bands placed on trauma victims will help track patients throughout the statewide trauma system. All EMS providers and hospitals have been provided with brighlty colored, organge "TRAUMA BANDS" which contain unique ID numbers. Banded patients will be entered into the State's EMScan data reporting database as well as the Arkansas Trauma Registry. Linking these two systems together with a common identifier will allow retrospective reporting and data analysis designed to reduce traumatic injuries and improve the care provided under the trauma care network.
